The Bacino area is located north-west of Rio Marina town, industrial work began in 1860 with the extraction of hematite. The accessory minerals are mainly pyrite and quartz. In the 1980s, when mining activity was closed, crystallizations of hematite were found so remarkable that this area was made known to collectors from all over the world. This representative specimen is composed by highly brilliant and partially fenster Hematite crystals aesthetically arranged on brown matrix.
